I am so mad at how I lost this game =_= I had my bioball clumped up and lost to a bunch of storms because my ghosts were completely out of position and without cloak. I made some HUGE errors this game… I’m ashamed I’m in Plat.; I feel so much lower…

1) As usual, macro slipped really badly. My minerals and gas were high, and I wasn’t spending them fast enough.

2) My building layout (simcity) was ABSOLUTELY horrible. It slowed down my units and led to their ultimate demise when I had the ~bright~ idea of using them to block a choke.. I really need to work on my simcity in general.

3) My expansions were late and inefficient and I was bad at transferring and breaking down rocks and everything. I need to sit down and figure out all of that and get more of a game plan before going into a game

4) I FORGOT CLOAK ON MY GHOSTS. I need to learn to pay attention to important things like that…

5) I had no idea what the Protoss was up to and just let him sit there and have free reign and do whatever he wanted. I need to scout more, drop more, deny expos, and everything else. I scanned his army a good portion into the game and saw something I probably could have taken out, but decided not to. When I finally decided to engage the army, forcefields and horrible mismicro just screwed me over.

6) Speaking of mismicro, yes, mismicro is a big reason I lost this game. I just messed up on everything, and, to be honest, I am really ashamed to even be in Platinum League… I feel like some Silver League player (no offense to Silver League players! I used to be one myself.) who somehow lucked out and undeservingly got promoted into Platinum.

Overall it was a very frustrating game because of my passivity and lack of game plan, along with needs-improvement mechanics and everything else. I need to be more active with scouting, production facilities, army and building positioning, expansions, harass (drops, too), and expanding efficiently.

It was another TvZ on the same map as the previous game, except I won this game. I hadn’t used the 2fact BlueFlame into Mech build in a while, so I was really shaky on the timings and whatnot, which showed in my play.

1) I had a complete neglect for my scout and just straight up forgot to look at what the Zerg was doing. I scanned a few times throughout the game, but, to be completely honest, I had only a vague idea as to what the Zerg was doing, and even then, not really…

2) I need to practice and refine this build again… I haven’t used it in a while and the timings and stuff were off a bit.

3) I really need to pay less attention to my units killing shit and more to my base and my macro.

3a) My minerals and gas were a lot higher than they should have been, I didn’t expand enough, and I didn’t have NEAR enough production facilities.

4) My upgrades were horrible. Really, they were. I need to work on being more active about upgrading.

Work on scouting, go over the build again and make sure I know it, focus less on units and more on macro, and work on upgrades.

I lost this game to an early, improved bling bust. I just messed up all of my timings in general and completely messed up my earlygame. I saw it coming and didn’t take proper precautions in walling off for it. I wouldn’t have had units, anyway, though, so yeah…

It was just one of those games where you just mess up on everything, you know? :/

I opened up paint to paste the screenshot of my placement and it.. didn’t ever copy to the clipboard, apparently, so I don’t have a screenshot… :c

I did place into Platinum, again, though! I didn’t play much at all during Season II, and I had a nasty losing streak toward the end of it, so I was worried I was going to be bumped down into Gold, again, but thankfully not!

I’m really out of practice and I’m actually very displeased with my play, that game…

1) I didn’t expand enough and expanded too late. I should have had at least a fourth base constructing when I was pushing out, if not before.

2) I didn’t EMP as well as I wanted to. They were okay, but if the Protoss would have had High Templars, it would have been gg for me. I SHOULD have used the cloak I researched and EMP’d before the engagement.

3) I wasn’t watching my food and only got two vikings out for the three or so colossi - uh oh. Luckily my upgraded bio was able to power through it.

4) I let my minerals and gas get too high and wasn’t balancing how I was using them; I needed to build more barracks at an earlier time and needed to just time out the stuff I was building in general.

5) I did almost no scouting apart from the initial SCV which I micro’d HORRIBLY, and the only times I scanned were to see his army composition right before engaging and a few times before that. I didn’t check his tech, possible hidden bases/expansions, or anything.

6) I held his first poke horribly. I lost a lot more than I should have. I should have had those SCVs hotkeyed and ready to repair, along with microing my army better.

Here’s the replay. SC2Replayed kept giving me an error when I was uploading it, so I had to use MegaUpload instead. In the future I’ll be using SC2Replayed, though!

I’m going to start playing a lot more in season 3 than I was able to during season 2; I want to get to at least Diamond AND keep my bonus pool under ~400. I want to remain in the top 8 of my division at least for the majority of the season, and top 25 for sure, if not the top 8. I’m also going to keep everyone here updated on my progress and what I’m working on and whatnot through this tumblr, so follow if you’re interested! o;

I’m taking season 3 by storm; what are your resolutions and goals for season 3?

So, for multiple reasons, I haven’t actually been on StarCraft and played some hardcore games in a while, but I’m back, now. I played the first few real games I’ve played in a long time, against practice partners, and concluded with a BEAUTIFUL (or so I think) TvT.

It really made me realize how much I miss playing. StarCraft is so much to me. I love the game, I love the community, I love the events, I love the streams, I love the forums, I love the challenge, I just love EVERYTHING about it. The whole thing is so amazing. Everything from the lowly bottom Bronze League player to the highest Code S player and everything in between like the casters and the organizers and the programmers and web designers and community managers and leaders and, wow, I could go on forever… 

I’m for sure going to be playing more and more in the future… Ugh I love everything about this game and everything above. I want to play more and interact with the community more and browse TL more (if that’s even possible) and streamwatch more and it’s just.. No words.

I love this game and everything related to it.

I’ll be playing a lot more; that means I’ll be updating a lot more. StarCraft better be ready - I’m comin’ back and I’m gonna be Diamond by the end of the summer.

The end of the school year is nearing and I’ve been really busy taking care of that (and a lot of other really personal stuff) so I literally haven’t touched StarCraft in like, forever.

Yeah, it’s killing me. Once the school year ends and some of the stuff that’s going on settles down, I’m gonna be able to play more.

And once I begin to play again, you better watch out. Diamond league, my goal is you.

I’m sorry everyone - I’ve kinda let myself down here. At first there was a bunch of drama going on and even if I COULD play, I couldn’t concentrate well enough to not suck, and then I just got lazy and was unmotivated…

But that changes tonight. I currently have 171 bonus pool and (ideally) I want to burn off a chunk of it tonight, hopefully getting it into the double digits.

I’ll post up the replays later, with analysis, of course.
